The Philistine and the Non-Compete

Now back to that non-compete.

Everytime I think about the audacity of that person to throw this unreasonable non-compete in my face and really think that I would sign it, I get mad. Just plain mad. And I know that isn't the Christian way, even though one of my Christian Warrior friends reminds me that even Jesus Christ got mad.

Tonight I listened to a message from one of my favorites, Joel Osteen, and it was right on time.

He talked about being a conqueror and an overcomer and standing on the promises of God.

"No weapon formed against me shall prosper." How much that rings true regarding the non-compete.

Osteen reminded me that in this situation where they are holding my pay hostage to my not signing the non-compete, God is in COMPLETE control. It is a fixed fight. God had a way out of a situation that was starting to become troublesome anyway. He will deal with them and give me double for my trouble. The owner of the company thought that they could bully me into signing a non-complete that even a monkey would have enough sense not to sign. "Who IS this uncircumsized Philistine" that he should defy the armies of the living God" (I Samuel 17:26). This is what David said, not giving even calling Goliath Goliath.

God is still on the throme. It is part of my heritage that everything I touch shall prosper.

"He who dwells in me in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in him I will trust."

I am mad, no more, but joyful in the Lord!

Paula;

I LOVE listening to Joel Osteen! I had lunch with him when I was 14 and he was 18. He was home from college. His Dad's church served lunch to the staff and ministry teams. We were one of the ministry teams staying on his Dad's church property. I just happened to get in line - me and a friend - standing next to the very cute Joel Osteen. He was friendly and polite. We talked about the book of Isaiah.

When I finish my book "License to Succeed" I would like Joel to write the forward.

Blessings!

That is wonderful Melody. Glad to know he was pleasant ... even back then!
